Big day today..

We have a big day today, cause today’s the day when the staircase to the bedroom in our B&B is getting remade. It’s been way overdue and also delayed our grand opening with months. But today we’re finally there. It has been pulled down, and is now awaiting to be attached in another location.

The other location may not be all that dramatic since it is like 20cm away from the current one. However the end result will be dramatic. Cause now it will all come together. The stairs, the platform in between the stairs and final two steps into the bed and bathroom area.

We’re only having a one bedroom B&B that may be more of a guest suite than anything else. Technically we could have fitted in more rooms but we rather start off with the one guest suite and see where it goes than anything else. If it kicks off in style there may be possibilities to expand into our garden.

Having a stand alone B&B was not on the table when we started to sketch up this side venture in our new house. The local government made it clear a B&B facility always had to be attached to ones house.

But.. one day we realised another family got an approval for a stand alone B&B so we’ll use that against the local authorities if and when we’ll ever get to that point that we would fell the need for and would want to expand.

But for today I am all happy the staircase comes into place. When in place we can FINALLY put the floor in, and when the floor is in we can also start finalising the cosmetics, and get the furniture in.
