Black ice matter..
Earlier this morning I headed out to the compost, which not all surprisingly is located on the back side of our property. Going there I thought it was little bit slippery, but not to overwhelming.

Then I walked around the house to get to the icy pond in the side garden to feed the fish. Let’s say it was a little bit more slippery there, those pavers on the ground are not the same as around the rest of the house and garden.
Standing by the pond I noticed our freshly emptied garbage bin on the street: let’s go pick it up shall we.
Turns out the street is covered with black ice. One can go iceskating on it.

So now I realise that our neighbour who looked all injured and crippled this morning when passing our house most likely just tried to avoid to get injured. Which is a good thing considering she’s in fact is a winter Olympian in the making.
So I guess today will be one of those days we’ll just stay inside and work on the house. Which is a good thing considering we’d like to open our B&B come March and we still don’t even have a staircase in our guest house..
