Crazy cat lady?
Five days, one greenhouse trap, and a whole lot of patience. That’s what it took to rescue a starving kitten from my back garden. What came next shocked me even more than his tiny meows.

There's a ten week old hooligan in our living room. After five intense days I managed to capture the kitten that showed up with his sibling on Sunday.
The sibling seem to be long gong, and so is the mama cat. Even though I suspect their disappearances are for different reasons.

But this little guy ended up all alone in our back garden and after several failed attempts of catching him I came up with the genius idea to try and trick him into our tunnel greenhouse which also comes with a door with a zipper.
So I made it impossible to escape from the inside, and opened up the door on one side and put a plate of food by the door. The travel cage which he already knew from outside was placed inside the green house.
In less than 40 minutes coming up with this plan, he was captured and placed in the travel cage.
A one way ticket to the gas chambers?
This is where the real drama begun and I am telling you, the disappointment with the national rescue organisation for this country is way and beyond huge.
First of all they argued about his age. The age they estimated based on the photo in the link above. I told them it is a kitten, that I initially thought was max 12 weeks old, and now, after seeing and touching him up close, gone down to 10. They sad it was old enough to survive by his own!
Second of all they argued where he came from. They like, well you live in the National Park, there's a group of cats by the camping.
I told them there's no way this small kitten would even survived such a trip which according to google maps is a 2.5km walk and takes 32minutes for a human and crossing a busy road.

Third of all they told me to release him again. Come again what? Their claims for this kind of action were multi folded.
For one cause they assumed he was a wildcat. Secondly, he was not worth saving cause and I quote "there are so many of them" [WTF]. And last but not least they would not pick him up unless I did let him loose again.
If we then trapped the mother and sibling, that have been M.I.A. for days I might add, then they might come and pick the three of them up, for what sounded like a one way ticket to the gas chambers.

Trapped
When I finally caught this little dude I could see how he has lost weight the past days, probably cause the only food he got was the food I placed outside for him in my attempts to catch him.
Which is probably also why he emerged so fast when I came up with my genius greenhouse plan.
It is also chilling at night and they told me to place a 10 week old cat outside!
After this I called our late fur baby's vet clinic. They gave me the number for a cat shelter where I spoke with a lovely lady who told me they were full but... If nothing else would work they would do everything to try and squeeze him in.
At this point I called back to the vet and asked if they could help me check him for fleas. 30minutes later we were there for a full check up of what is considered to be a little bit skinny and max 10 week old baby boy without and fleas.
This little guy is now fully vaccinated, dewormed and also got a cure against fleas, just to be sure.
The vet and the rest of the staff seriously doubt he is a real wild cat but instead have been dumped with his family and then something happened to the other two.
Or they got out and the owners don't report them missing. Both scenarios would explain my failing attempts in finding anybody missing them.
They also confirmed it would be animal cruelty to place this little dude outside again like I was told to do by the animal rescue services.
A service that I will never ever support financially nor call for any kind of animal emergency ever again. My experience with them also made me understand why a former friend of mine felt always talked negative about them.
I am sure we'll find a solution for this little guy. Who just had breakfast, and played with one of the toys I picked up yesterday, and now is taking a nap.
