Full activity by the bird feeders..

From one day to the other we have full activity by the bird feeder. Cause suddenly we have a feel of winter. It was all white this morning.

Not because of a thick layer of snow but because a thin layer of snow and a lot of frost. One of those typical ‘Kodak moment’ mornings.

When it’s cold like this I also wish my fish all had some kind fleece pyjamas to keep warm. It looks so cold in the black water of the pond.

But I believe they are doing alright.

Yesterday I started feeding them with only sinking food and they all seemed alert and hungry. I am sensing that will wear off a bit the coming days. At least if it indeed stays cold.

That’s the troubling part.

That the weather is so unpredictable in regards to temperature. Making it almost impossible for little critters to know what to do.

Personally I know what I want to do. If the weather stays like this I am going to charge up my cameras and go out an early morning for some wildlife photography.

Even though never ever being anything close to a wildlife photographer of such, it’s been way too long since I held my cameras.

Sometimes I miss the photography [used to be a sports photographer] sides of life.

But for a long time I really didn’t.

It was so much hard work trying to keep afloat. Being a freelancer is hard work from the beginning.

Being it in a niche where a lot of “facebook photographers”1 came along and access to the events made it even harder.

However, I do smell a difference out there.

It seems people have started to appreciate people’s hard work. While also starting to actually see the difference in quality in between photographers and videographers.

So, I will start by charging those cameras. Head out in nature just for the fun of it, and just maybe I will also find a close by sporting event and fire away.
