Hello ❤️ Amsterdam..

Hello ❤️ Amsterdam..

Talk about forgotten places. I hardly set foot in Amsterdam like ever. Today was different.

Took a train early in the morning and 2h later I stepped out on the central station. Had an overpriced - but very yummie - breakfast and took a walk around the area.

The pancake hang out Pancakes Amsterdam a couple of hundred meters from the train station was jam packed with what looked like tourists from the far east. All geared up with cameras and vlogging devices 😁

When people line up on the street for food it is either very good or extremely hip.

In this case I am sensing it could be either one of the two.

Myself would not care to stop and find out, cause standing in line is really not my cup of tea nor idea of fun. 🙈

Unless maybe for a super cool roller coaster ride in a theme park. But that is a complete other story.

Not lining up for things do make me a really bad tourist from time to time.

Anyway..

I actually had to be somewhere and took the tram and here’s the geniousity of this story.

Tram number 2 is a good tip of one doesn’t feel like walking.

Not only does it take you to the van Gogh museum Museumplein but it also takes you through some landmarks of the city, nice areas and shopping opportunities.

Some of them for are for sure more typical AMS than others..

I can see why people go here for a weekend and am thinking I/we should explore this city a little bit more than the occassional visit to RAI (conference and event centre) and such. 2h away on a train really isn’t that far.

We did go on the canal on a tourist ride some years back.

Even though it may sound trivial and typical tourist I would recommend it. Cause it really gives you a complete new perspective on things and an insight to the history of the city.

Next time I get to go to Amsterdam I wish I have more time to explore this gorgeous city a bit more.
