I'm struggling..
Step one was to clear out this space from left over stones and bushes that have been killed by an evil Mot from Asia.

Right now I'm struggling a bit with a lot of stuff. I am struggling with the fact my very much loved boss turned out to be a total a-hole when things heated up around my work hours. I am struggling with faith my young horses, yes I have horses but this is not a horsey blog, will evolve in to great adults and sport horses.
I am struggling with the world in general. But I am also struggling with the garden, when it suddenly turned cold outside the other day it was not as fun to be out in the garden as it used to, and here's the thing. If one is not out in the garden it will pretty fast grow out of control.
The story continues after this short little message.. why not also join me on my Substack chat where I share a lot of photos from the garden and house renovation and would love you to join me, and share your stories for creative inspirations ๐ฑ๐กโจ
Especially the bits that spells - weed. Except for some exceptions to the rule, what is weed really? Isn't weed just something that us humans decided we don't want in our gardens and or surroundings. Things that are crucial for bugs and critters but that we decide to remove cause WE DON'T LIKE IT?
I believe it is, and I am going out of my way to make our garden into a haven for the above mentioned bugs and critters.
Our garden should be their first hand choice to go to when things are rough in the hood. We have water features, we have trees and bushes and the so ever important native flowers.

A wall of trees!
In our side garden by the drive way we're actually going to expand the drive way. As much as I love us to be able to park our cars, we don't drive that much anymore, in an easy way, I also hate the idea that part of our garden is turning into a parking lot. On the other hand, ours won't be paved up.
Ours will remain friendly for the environment and hopefully end up just like a mud free patch of grass.
On the other side of our drive way there is a smaller side garden, something that was completely overgrown like a jungle when we moved in. In the front of this tiny spot I am trying to turn it into a "lavender field".
For the back of this patch I have struggled to figure out what to do. But then the other day I sat in the chairs I've placed in front of our kitchen window and then it hit me.
Why not plant some beautiful Lilacs, and by doing so take use of the round shapes of paved areas in front of our house. Step one was to clear out this space from left over stones and bushes that have been killed by an evil Mot from Asia. The stones will move to the back and find a new home around our pond.
Step two was to move the previously saved up Lilacs that I planted elsewhere last summer, and start creating what should hopefully end up being a dense gorgeous wall of Lilacs.
Which will turn the space in front of our kitchen a private spot to hang out. Which in turn will make me fight even harder for the big glass doors I would want to have from our living room when we finally get there in our renovations.
For now we're just trying to get the B&B ready and get going with that. The other day we sent the extra paper work requested to the municipality and hope our approval will come our way within a few weeks.
