No you didn't! Yes I did!
Today I did cancelled my Bluesky account. As I have previously stated that was the general idea. So this morning I said goodbye, and told people to follow me on the blog if they like to continue to follow.
And yes, maybe it is foolish, childish even, to make an official announcement when leaving ones socials. I can dig that!
However, my intention was to give any serious followers a heads up, before closing my account later on in the evening. And righ now it is later on in the evening.
So this is what happened. I logged into my Bluesky, to figure out how to go about when wanting to close down the account.
When logging in I could not avoid to see I had some notifications.
So I opened them [big mistake], and came face to face with all the reasons I don't feel like sticking around anymore.
HOLY CRAP!
Hate, a lot of it.
Mean comments, many of them.
And my personal favourites mocking me in terms like "she's still here, she'll never leave". Guess what, I just did. And I'm feeling good!
