Offended? Hell no..

We're - and by we I mean me and my significant other - following a show on the tele named "Down the road". It is a real life show with eight people with Down's Syndrome in focus. And the show challenges them to live outside their comfort zone.
It is absolutely adorable and fun entertainment. Cause these boys and girls are so loveable, fun, caring and creative.
But turns out this concept of television is too much for some oversensitive people in society. These people have started to bitch about it and claim the participants are being used, ridiculed and exposed for money. Come again?
Do they really believe their parents would drop them off in the first episode if they didn't believe it was a great opportunity for self development to be part of this?
Why can't people just stop being so offended about just about anything and just go on with their lives?
