The vintage furniture hunt..
Just maybe that kind of elegance is also a bit fragile, which may make one sturdy oak table the better choice. This is where the drama begins.

It is no secret I like vintage and up-cycling. Not only does it make great interior and save the planet, but also the actual hunt itself is so much fun. At the moment I am actively hunting for a table for our guest house a.k.a "the B&B".
It may not be ready to take on guests just yet but we started to crumble a bit in which direction we should place the kitchen sink. Which is when I once again headed online to hunt for a table.
The original idea was to get a 90x90cm bar table and take advantage of the garden view window which for exterior reasons is a bit high up on the inside of the house.
Turns out 90x90cm is not a common size for indoor bar tables and the few ones on the market are shit expensive, and there's no chance in hell I am paying some plus € 700 for a bar table for our B&B.
So I keep looking, yesterday I found two tables online. One sturdy and square oak table, and one more elegant table out of Scandinavian birch.
The Scandinavian table really spoke to me through the screen, so did the chairs styled with it.
Just maybe that kind of elegance is also a bit fragile, which may make one sturdy oak table the better choice. This is where the drama begins.
I ask the owner of the oak table for the measurements. When these arrive, I head out to the guest house, just to realise - I kind of already knew - the oak table is too big.
The space will look cluttered, and that is so not the idea with our guest house to be.
So I send a nice message back telling he or she that the table is gorgeous, but it will be too big. The seller responds that's a pity when I seem sincerely interested.
This is where I respond like. It is unfortunately too big for the guest house, and too small for our dining room. One would think this is where the conversation ended.
But no, now the seller comes back to me, and hear and behold. Now he is offering me what must be a magic table, cause suddenly the table is 125x125cm..
