For sure No is an answer but that also goes for the "I will see what I can do". Which in this case turned out to work in my favour.
Today I expect we're not generating that much power via our solar panels. It is basically dark outside. I don't even want to try to imagine how dark it would be this time of year if one live in let's say Alaska or any other location closer to the polar circle than the Benelux happen to be situated.
For me personally I felt lazy as hell today. At least till that moment I spotted an e-mail from our web hosting company reminding me it is almost time to renew our services, and holy crap that was one expensive shit show of an invoice.
The renewal for one year ono was way over €450! However, if paying up front for no less than 24 months in one batch I'd get a discount, and still the invoice landed on over €870!!!
These things must be putting people at risk of having a brain aneurysm, even more so when I realised any new customers pay just around the €8 mark per month, at least for their first year.
In this situation I did what any sane person would do, I contacted support and asked how the f-ck this is possible. After some fiddling back and forth they did realise and admit to the fact I am indeed a faithful and long lasting customer.
Included in this concept of me being faithful it turned out I'm also a very humble client, humble as in not causing them any hassle with weird installations, but also humble as in not pushing my account features to the max.
So in the end I paid around €400 for a two year renewal.
The moral of this story is never to take anything for granted. Especially when it comes down to paying for any kind of services. For sure No is an answer but that also goes for the "I will see what I can do". Which in this case turned out to work in my favour.
