Why are people so impatient?

I am no podcast pro, but I do tent to end up on the Reddit Podcasting forum to figure more things out about this enticing topic. Just now I read yet another story on the topic: I just launched my podcast and the numbers suck.
I don't know which formula is the best one to launch a podcast. Myself made a pre-release of an episode and put that online together with episode 2 in the beginning of November.
I release once a week and never mind I am missing out on the huge pay check, I have now overtaken Meghan Markle in regards to the amount of episodes published.. ;)
This is also another breaking point for my podcast venture, cause it is also not until now I have started to use social media to market my podcast.
Before having 12 episodes under the belt, which includes one interview episode, I believe it would have been a dead end to even start to try and promote a new podcast into a niche topic.
Now I have enough episodes for people to binge listen, if they'd like to do so, so they can get acquainted with me and the podcast.
One can also hear the difference in my way of speaking in between episode 1 and 12. For the first one I was quiet and held back, some episodes later it all comes way more natural.
Either way, not only my voice and marketing strategy has changed closing in on three months, now I am actually starting to look at the numbers more critically. Still they won’t tell me much, but they will indicate where things are going.
Which leads me to the next question. Why are people of today so impatient? I also follow the Substack forum on Reddit and people are like hysterical they are not getting any followers, viewers or downloads on their projects.
Is it age? Is it they never went through anything really dramatic and traumatising in their life so they cannot focus on what’s important? I don’t now.
What I do know is I have returned to my blog. I love to write so now when my other writing project, the one I killed off, turned podcast I feel this is a good way to get back on track and make those thoughts and fingers work :D
