Why bother..

When it comes down to interior, inside and outside, I do a lot of vintage and second hand shopping. I love upcycling stuff and give them new life. So let’s just say I am not into a “Kardasian” kind of life style.

But ever so often I wonder why people don’t bother in setting a price on their merchandise. Which makes me to use the standard phrasing “what’s the bottom price" almost automatic.

Sometimes the price match and sometimes the response comes back with a “what do you want to pay”. Which is when I leave the conversation. Cause obviously the seller have no clue what their item is worth. Or, they hope someone will radically overbid for it.

Right now I have two big up-cycling projects that needs to get going. One is a cabinet for our hallway and the other the kitchen unit for our B&B. But this weekend we feel a bit deflated about the B&B bit. First we got a mail from the local government that they extended the process for our application with 42 days!

A couple of hours later we got an additional mail that they need more information. In our case the question is why they need more information.

They got like everything already but now wants more details about the bathroom to make sure it is big enough. And let me tell you this. Our guest bathroom is like bigger than a lot of the student accommodation in Amsterdam. For which students cough up someЄ800/month to stay in. No joke!

So why our local government now slam down on this we do not know.

But then again. Yesterday we met up with a couple two villages away. They belong to another local government and been through hell to set up a farmer’s shop, a camping site and a coffee terrace.

They already have the farm. They own hundreds of acres of land, they have animals, they have their restaurant license and still the people set in office to work for the people act like clowns.

I hate being political but sometimes the people running our country, the EU or what ever country out there really seem too stupid to shit.
