Work for free..
The only thing I gained was this awful pain in my face topped up with a pounding headache.

In a "previous life" I worked as a Photographer. And by working I mean working as a Photographer and having Photography as my main source of income.
So let's kick start this post with stating the fact. I know what it means and how it feels when people assume one work for free.
During late summer in 2022 I tried something completely different in regards to my so called career. And by doing so I managed to get to see and work with something I never ever really thought about working with before.
For sure it was somewhat related to both my personal interests and other previous work experiences.
In the bigger scheme of pictures it was something refreshingly new. And I liked it. Unfortunately for me it was time limited. But that didn't bother me that much. It was like part of the seasonal deal.
Not yet!
What bothered me comes afterwards. Cause since I really enjoyed it I applied for a similar position. And after a lot of fiddling back and forth and even an interview face to face I was invited to come and "prove myself" for a day.
So I did.
Or at least I thought I did. In the process I even hit my head big time and for sure obtained a lighter concussion, not good not good. Anyhow. Closing in to 5pm on that day the bossman manager came by and I was like; Do you have any news for me?
To which the bossman manager responds: No, not yet.
The waiting game..
There and then I found it so weird. We e-mailed, I came for an interview. I come in to prove myself for a day. I hit my head big time when a shelf falls down. I continue to work. And after all this I am not the slightest bit wiser.
Basically the only thing I gained was this awful pain in my face topped up with a pounding headache.
Before I left for home I once again found myself talking to the bossman and now he told me I would hear from him before the end of the week.
He also told me I was getting reimbursed for my day working there proving myself. So I wait. Now I waited so long that the initial "in the end of the week" in itself started over a week ago.
Which made me come to the conclusion this company must have set up the perfect scheme to let people come do their dirty work, for free..
